Groups, Travel, and Big Projects

Hey Everyone,
I hope that this note finds you doing well. We are doing great! Alise and I followed the Northlake team out to Laredo on July 4th and continued on to her families house just north of Beaumont, TX. We had a great time with the team from WA. The whole week following the Sunday night baptisms was filled with water balloons, games, chapel times, pinatas, great food, and a trip to the water park. The kids thoroughly enjoyed the team. It was a great time! As I get more photos over the next few weeks I will add more pictures.
Today I want to share with you a great new opportunity that we have coming up for Vida Nueva. Many of you know that over the last six months we have felt that our highest priority in regards to the children’s home would be to open and develop a second home. We believe providing a separate location to house the boys from the girls would greatly expand our ability to retain the older kids that we provide care for.
Especially as our ministry has been attracting more and more young people, the need has become more and more prevalent. At this time we only have one child under 10 years of age. Can you imagine trying to house and care for 18-25 young people between the ages of 11-17. Enforcing the rules regarding relationships with students of the opposite sex is one of our biggest headaches and our biggest liability.
Over the last few months we have looked at a variety of alternate locations to open an additional home/location for housing either the boys or the girls. We looked at places to rent and places to buy. Early in June we were able to locate and view what we believe is the best option.
There is a home with property with 5 min drive of our house now in Parras. The property is roughly twice the size of the property that we own now (the property we have now is just over 1500 square meters). The home is mostly finished (only needing cosmetic finishing & repairs), and was built with the intention of a having a children’s home in it. Another ministry in Parras built it some 5 years ago. Since then that ministry has moved and does not use the property for anything at this time.
Currently the owner is asking for $40,000 USD to sell the property. She has indicated that she would owner finance as well, taking a $10,000 USD down payment and giving us 3 years to raise the balance. We believe that this is what God is calling us to do.
Please consider what role you might have in helping this vision come in to being. I have prepared a full document complete with many pictures of the entire property/house. If you would like to see it, please email me and I will gladly send it to you. I have posted a picture of the house below. We will be working towards fundraising for the purchase price and for the eventual operating costs that having a second home will add. This house could conceivable increase our capacity for kids from 25 to between 40-45. God bless! - Chad & Alise

Dear Chad and Alise,
What an awesome under taking you are involved in! I wish I could say I could send money for your 2nd home. At the moment, the best I can do is talk to people I know and see if anyone would like to contribute to this wonderful plan. I will take it to the Lord in my prayers.
I will no longer be at this email address after July 17th. My term of service comes to an end. If you would still like to stay in touch, please let me know how to change my email address.
God Bless and keep you both, Su Hawley
